Frequently Asked Questions

  • Visit my Getting Started page to learn about the process. You can contact me at lindsey@lmdtherapy.com to schedule a free 15-minute consultation.

  • This varies depending on what you're working on and what you're looking for.

Some people find shorter-term work helpful, but my focus is longer-term, depth-oriented therapy. Meaningful change takes time, especially when we're working to understand and shift longstanding patterns.

Therapy can also change shape over time - what brings you in initially may evolve, and the role it plays in your life can shift too.

I'm committed to staying with you through that process for as long as the work feels meaningful. We'll figure it out together as we go.

  • Yes - everything you share in therapy is confidential and protected under HIPAA. I won't share anything about you or our work together without your written consent.

There are a few standard legal exceptions:

    • Reasonable suspicion of abuse or neglect of a child, elderly person, or dependent adult

    • If you present a serious danger of violence to yourself or others

    • If a court order requires the release of information

    • If you provide written authorization to release information

You can also request a copy of my Notice of Privacy Practices at any time.

  • I am in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO plans. I also offer self-pay rates.

For other insurance providers, I will submit claims on your behalf for out-of-network reimbursement. We can discuss your specific coverage during our initial consultation.

  • Under the No Surprises Act, uninsured and self-pay clients have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of expected charges before receiving services. I will provide this estimate to all out-of-pocket clients prior to beginning treatment.

For more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 1-800-985-3059.
